Castles are something fun for everyone, whether you’re a little girl dreaming of being a princess or a boy imagining he’s a knight.
By using simple shapes, you can encourage your students to dream up the perfect castle! First, have your students think about all the shapes they see when they imagine castles, from the triangle flags to the square brick tiles. This way they will will get their creative juices flowing while getting a fun lesson in geometry! Encourage your students to get creative with shapes by mixing a blend of triangles, squares, circles, and rectangles.
To get started, all you will need is pencils to draw outlines, sharpies to trace them and watercolors. Let your students’ imagination run wild with these colored castles! This art lesson was inspired by the one at Patty Palmer’s blog.
